Meryl Streep’s and Anne Hathaway’s iconic looks to go under the hammer: auction of «The Devil Wears Prada» costumes announced
All proceeds will be donated to charity
Auction house Christie’s has announced the first-ever auction dedicated entirely to costumes from the iconic film «The Devil Wears Prada». This autumn, fans will have the chance to acquire some of the movie’s most recognizable looks, worn on screen by Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, Stanley Tucci, and other cast members.
Among the most anticipated lots is the legendary sky-blue J.Crew sweater from the 2006 original. It is the very sweater featured in Miranda Priestly’s famous monologue about the «shade of blue». Despite its iconic status, it is expected to sell for just $100–200.
Also going under the hammer is Andy Sachs’ Gabriela Hearst dress, with an estimated value of $3,000–4,000.
Other standout pieces include Dries Van Noten and Schiaparelli jackets worn by Meryl Streep’s character during Runwaymagazine editorial meetings, a Dolce & Gabbana three-piece suit paired with a leopard-print scarf worn by Stanley Tucci’s character, and a pair of Valentino Garavani shoes personally signed by Meryl Streep.

The catalogue also features archival pieces from Schiaparelli, Fendi, Dries Van Noten, Dolce & Gabbana, and Elie Saab that were used during the production of the film.
The online auction will run from September 1 to September 15, 2026. Ahead of the sale, all lots will be on public display from September 8 to September 13 at Christie’s Rockefeller Center galleries in New York during Fashion Week.
According to Vogue, the charitable auction was initiated by Meryl Streep. All proceeds from the sale of the costumes and other unique items will be donated to the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) and the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA).
