Here’s everything revealed so far
Last year, Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodríguez, one of the world’s most high-profile sports couples, officially announced their engagement after nine years together. Over the years, they have built a large family and are raising five children. Now, as preparations for their wedding gather pace, international media continue to reveal new details about the upcoming celebration. Here’s everything that is known so far.
How their love story began
Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodríguez’s love story began in 2016. According to Georgina, they first met while she was working as a sales assistant at a Gucci boutique in Madrid.
From that moment on, their relationship developed quickly. Georgina moved in with the football superstar, and together they built a large family. Both have repeatedly said that family is the most important thing in their lives.
Together, they are raising five children. The couple share two daughters — Alana Martina and Bella Esmeralda. Georgina also plays an active role in raising Ronaldo’s three older children — Cristiano Jr. and twins Eva Maria and Mateo.
In August 2025, Georgina announced their engagement by sharing a photo of her stunning diamond engagement ring alongside the caption: «Yes. In this life and in all the lives to come».

When could the wedding take place?
The couple have not yet announced an official wedding date. However, the Daily Mail, citing The Sun, reported that the ceremony is reportedly planned for August 8. Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodríguez have not confirmed these reports.
Following their engagement, Ronaldo also told Piers Morgan in an interview that he dreams of getting married after the FIFA World Cup.
«I hope to walk into my own wedding carrying the World Cup trophy», the football star said.

Where could the ceremony take place?
According to British media reports, the couple are planning to marry on the Portuguese island of Madeira — Cristiano Ronaldo’s birthplace.
The wedding ceremony is expected to take place at Funchal Cathedral, a historic church with a history spanning more than 500 years. The location holds special significance for Ronaldo, as it stands close to the hospital where he was born and near the training ground of Nacional, the club where he played as a child.
Earlier, international media had also speculated that the ceremony could be held at the Quinta da Regaleira estate in Sintra.

Where could the celebration be held?
According to The Sun, the wedding reception is expected to take place at the five-star Savoy Palace hotel in Madeira. The newspaper claims that hotel management has already informed guests that two floors and several bars will be temporarily closed on Friday and Saturday due to a private event. So far, however, there has been no official confirmation of these reports.
