Billie Eilish makes her big-screen debut: first photos from the film set revealed

Singer Billie Eilish is opening a new chapter in her career. The Grammy-winning artist is making her feature film debut in a leading role. The first photos from the set of «The Bell Jar» — the screen adaptation of Sylvia Plath’s acclaimed novel of the same name — have already surfaced online.
Filming is currently underway in Toronto. For the role, the 24-year-old singer has undergone a dramatic transformation. Replacing her signature dark hair and oversized outfits, Eilish now sports auburn hair styled in a classic 1950s fashion, bright red lipstick, a vintage red cardigan, a plaid skirt, and low-heeled pumps.

In the film, Billie portrays Esther Greenwood — an aspiring writer who, after completing an internship at a New York magazine, struggles to find her place in the world. As reported by Just Jared, the story follows Esther as she faces intense societal pressure, a profound personal crisis, and depression, which form the emotional core of the narrative.
The film is directed by Sarah Polley, best known for «Women Talking» and «Away from Her».
