This weekend, society pages around the world are focused on Dua Lipa and Callum Turner. The couple have officially begun their wedding celebrations in Sicily, which, according to Western media reports, are expected to last several days and cost the newlyweds more than £1.5 million.
The first major event was a pre-wedding cocktail reception held at the magnificent Palazzo Valguarnera Gangi in Palermo. There, the bride and groom welcomed friends and family, with guests already including Charli XCX, Mark Ronson, Troye Sivan, Joe Alwyn, George Daniel and Grace Gummer.

For the special occasion, the 30-year-old pop star chose an exclusive gown by Bottega Veneta. The singer appeared in a snow-white dress featuring an open back and a dramatic ostrich-feather skirt. She completed the bridal look with a clutch from the fashion house and jewellery by Bulgari, including a luxurious vintage watch, according to Vogue. The 36-year-old groom opted for a light linen suit by Jacquemus.
Despite the celebratory atmosphere, the lavish festivities have already sparked mixed reactions among some local residents. Several people in Palermo expressed dissatisfaction over the closure of certain locations and the intense attention surrounding the celebrity wedding, stressing that the city «is not for rent to the wealthy».
