The numbers are staggering! How much Meryl Streep and the other actresses were paid for filming The Devil Wears Prada 2

$12.5 million each
As the sequel to the культ classic The Devil Wears Prada continues its successful run at the global box office, media outlets have revealed the salaries of the film’s leading actresses. According to Variety, Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, and Emily Blunt each received $12.5 million to reprise their iconic roles.
Sources say that securing Meryl Streep was a key condition for 20th Century Studios. The actress was reportedly offered a significantly larger paycheck, but insisted that her co-stars receive equal compensation. As a result, all three stars ultimately signed deals under identical terms.

In addition to their base salaries, the actresses are also expected to receive a percentage of the film’s box office revenue. Industry insiders predict that, if the movie continues its strong theatrical performance, each actress could earn more than $20 million in total.
Directed once again by David Frankel, the film has already grossed over $300 million worldwide. During its opening weekend alone, the sequel brought in more than $233 million, making it one of the biggest box-office launches of the year.

Stanley Tucci also returned to reprise his role, while newcomers to the franchise include Justin Theroux and Lucy Liu.

For reference, the original 2006 film was based on the novel of the same name by Lauren Weisberger. The writer drew inspiration from her own experience working as an assistant to Anna Wintour, editor-in-chief of American Vogue. That chapter of her life ultimately became the foundation for the now-iconic story about the glamorous and demanding world of fashion publishing.
