Daily figure: «The Devil Wears Prada 2» grossed $233 million over the weekend

Almost like the original – over its entire theatrical run
The sequel to the культовий film «The Devil Wears Prada» has made a strong global box office debut, earning $233.6 million in its opening weekend. The majority of the revenue came from international markets – $156.6 million. In the United States, the film grossed $77 million, significantly exceeding analysts’ expectations, which had projected around $180 million in global opening weekend earnings.

The production budget is estimated at approximately $100 million. According to the creators, a substantial portion of the costs went toward reuniting the original cast – Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci. The key creative team from the first film also returned for the sequel, including director David Frankel.

The film continues the story of Andy Sachs, who returns to the world of fashion and once again finds herself at Runway, where she is confronted with the industry’s strict rules and dynamics.

The original 2006 film grossed $326 million worldwide over its entire theatrical run. The new sequel has already approached that figure within just a few days, confirming sustained audience interest in the franchise.
By the end of its debut weekend, «The Devil Wears Prada 2» ranked fourth at the domestic box office among films of 2026. It was surpassed by «Michael» ($97.5 million), «Super Mario: Film of the Galaxy» ($131 million), and «Project Ave Maria» ($80 million).
