«Stranger Things» returns: Netflix announces a prequel series
Watch the first teaser!
The «Stranger Things» universe is expanding! Netflix has announced a prequel to the hit series, titled «Other Worlds: A Stranger Things Adventure», and unveiled its first teaser.
This time, the story will take place in 1955 — long before the events of the original show. The setting is the small town of Marion, Nevada. Viewers can expect an entirely new cast of heroes and villains, although details about the plot and cast are still being kept under wraps.

According to «Variety», the creators of the original series, Matt and Ross Duffer, had previously hinted that the prequel would explore the events leading up to Henry Creel’s encounter with an otherworldly substance. It would later grant him extraordinary abilities and become a key element in Vecna’s story. The new project could therefore reveal more about the origins of the dark force that changed the characters’ lives forever.

Joe Wright, known for films such as «Atonement» and «Pride & Prejudice», will direct the first three episodes. Filming for the series will take place in New Mexico.
Matt and Ross Duffer revealed that they had been developing the idea for «Other Worlds» for many years and are now thrilled to finally see it come to life.

«We’ve been dreaming about «Other Worlds: A Stranger Things Adventure» for many years, and seeing that vision finally come to life is an incredible and exciting feeling. It’s still «Stranger Things», but at the same time, it’s something entirely fresh: a new setting, new heroes and villains, and new… Well, that’s all we can share for now. Now it’s time to start casting. In the meantime, keep your eyes on the skies, fans!», the brothers shared.
The series is scheduled to premiere in 2028.
