Star-studded family news: 59-year-old Salma Hayek becomes a grandmother for the first time

There is a special reason to celebrate in Hollywood actress Salma Hayek’s family — the star has become a grandmother for the first time. François-Henri Pinault, the French billionaire and Hayek’s husband, has welcomed his first grandchild through his 29-year-old son, François Jr.
The baby’s mother, 23-year-old German countess, model and influencer Lara Cosima Henckel von Donnersmarck, shared the news. On Instagram, she posted a series of heartwarming family photos and revealed that they had already spent their first month in their new roles as parents.
According to her post, the newborn boy has also been named François.
«My husband (the coolest François in the world) and our son (the sweetest François in the world) … our first month as parents», Lara wrote.
The photos capture the baby’s first days of life — during a picnic with his mother, aboard the family jet and surrounded by relatives at a luxurious estate. In one of the pictures, the newborn is held by his famous grandmother, 59-year-old Salma Hayek.
Interestingly, the couple’s wedding, as well as Lara’s pregnancy and her relationship with François Jr., had remained largely out of the public eye for quite some time. They made no major announcements and only revealed several pieces of happy personal news at once after sharing the first photos of their baby.
Lara Cosima is not only a member of an aristocratic family, but also a public figure in her own right. She holds the title of countess, works as a model and is active on social media. Her father is German filmmaker Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck, best known, among other things, for directing the acclaimed film «The Lives of Others».
The father of the new dad, François-Henri Pinault, is one of France’s best-known businessmen. He previously headed the luxury conglomerate Kering, which owns such renowned fashion brands as Gucci, Saint Laurent, Balenciaga and Bottega Veneta.
Pinault, 64, has three children from previous relationships. His older children, François and Mathilde, were born during his marriage to designer Dorothée Lepère. He also has a son, Augustin, from his relationship with supermodel Linda Evangelista.
Pinault is raising his youngest daughter, 18-year-old Valentina Paloma, together with Salma Hayek.
