A royal wedding recently took place in Jordan — Princess Sara bint Faisal bin Al-Hussein, the niece of Jordan’s monarch, married Ali Murabit Muhammad Al-Sawaf.

The ceremony, known as Katb al-Kitab, was held at the Zahran Palace in Amman. King Abdullah II, Queen Rania, Prince Hashem bin Abdullah II, the bride’s father Prince Faisal bin Al-Hussein, and other members of the royal family attended the celebration, according to the Petra news agency.

Queen Rania shared the first photos from the wedding on social media. In the images, the newlyweds pose together in the courtyard of Zahran Palace. The palace holds special significance for the Jordanian royal family: Crown Prince Hussein and Princess Rajwa were married there in 2023. In 2025, Zahran Palace also hosted the wedding of Sara’s twin sister, Princess Aisha.

For the ceremony, 29-year-old Sara chose a classic ivory wedding gown. The neckline was adorned with voluminous fabric flowers, while the bateau neckline gave the silhouette a refined and understated look. The long skirt flowed into a wide train, while a sheer veil measuring around two metres completed the ensemble.

The centrepiece of the bridal look was a diamond floral tiara — a striking piece from the royal jewellery collection. Sara’s older sister, Princess Aya, previously wore the tiara for her wedding in 2014. In 2025, it appeared again as part of Princess Aisha’s bridal look. Now, it has been passed on to the third sister — Sara.

The groom opted for traditional Arab attire — a white ensemble with gold details and a traditional headdress.

One of the most prominent guests at the ceremony was Queen Rania. She arrived at the palace with King Abdullah II and their youngest son, Prince Hashem.
For the family celebration, Rania wore a deep red Roksanda Maite’s dress.

Another highlight of the evening was the wedding cake. The multi-tiered, snow-white dessert was decorated with numerous ornamental details, and the newlyweds cut it not with an ordinary knife, but with a ceremonial sword.

The princess holds a bachelor’s degree in interior architecture and a master’s degree in event management and design from the University of Westminster in the United Kingdom. She currently serves as deputy director of the Jordan Olympic Training Center and is actively involved in the development of sport in her country.

Her husband, Ali Murabit Al-Sawaf, was born in Jeddah and studied at King’s Academy in Jordan before earning a degree in computer science from King’s College London. He works as an artificial intelligence engineer and specialises in technological solutions.
The couple’s engagement was announced in January 2025.
