Conflict Resolved: Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni Reach Settlement
After a two-year feud
The legal battle between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni, which lasted nearly two years, has officially come to an end: the actress and director have announced that they have reconciled. According to Variety, the parties have signed a settlement agreement.
Representatives for both Lively and Baldoni confirmed the deal in a joint statement. While the terms of the agreement remain confidential, it has been reported that the actress withdrew all lawsuits filed against Baldoni’s production company and waived any claims for financial compensation.
The conflict began following the production of the film It Ends With Us, in which Lively starred while Baldoni served as director and also played one of the lead roles. The 38-year-old actress accused her 42-year-old co-star of sexual harassment, creating a toxic atmosphere on set, and even attempting to orchestrate a smear campaign against her together with his team. Baldoni denied all allegations and filed counterclaims for defamation, arguing that Lively had attempted to “take creative control of the film.”
The courtroom dispute continued for more than a year and a half. In April 2026, a federal judge in New York dismissed the majority of Lively’s claims, including allegations of harassment, conspiracy, and defamation. Only several issues remained under consideration — including breach of contract and alleged retaliation claims — but the case never proceeded to a full trial.
The reconciliation came just two weeks before the scheduled federal court proceedings. In their joint statement, both parties emphasized that despite the difficulties, the film remained an important project for the entire team.
“We are proud of this work and sought to draw attention to the issue of domestic violence. At the same time, we acknowledge that challenges arose during the process, and Blake’s concerns deserve to be heard,” the representatives for both sides stated.
