Taylor Swift Named the Richest Singer in the World

Forbes magazine has compiled its annual list of the world’s richest musicians. American singer Taylor Swift topped the list, surpassing Rihanna. Her fortune is estimated at $1.6 billion, while Rihanna’s is $200 million less.

Swift became the first artist to join the billionaire rankings solely through her music career. Unlike Rihanna, with her Fenty Beauty cosmetics brand and Savage X Fenty lingerie line, Taylor does not engage in other businesses and earns exclusively from her music and performances.

It’s reported that last year alone, Swift earned $100 million in royalties from Spotify. In second place is rapper Jay-Z, with a net worth of $2.5 billion.

Also in the top five richest female artists are Selena Gomez with a fortune of $1.3 billion, Madonna with $850 million, and Beyoncé with $760 million.
