Woman Accused of Attempted Attack on Rihanna Loses Parental Rights

The case continues to unfold
A court in Florida has terminated the parental rights of 35-year-old Ivanna Lizette Ortiz, who is accused of attempting to attack Rihanna.
The woman has been prohibited from having any contact with her child, while sole custody has been granted to the father. The court also ruled that the defendant may not see the child, with the only possible exception being personal consent from the father, according to TMZ.
The decision stems from an incident that allegedly took place in March. According to investigators, the woman drove to the singer’s home in Los Angeles and opened fire with a semi-automatic weapon. At the time, Rihanna, her partner A$AP Rocky, their three children, the singer’s mother, and household staff were inside the residence. Fortunately, no one was injured.
The suspect was arrested immediately. Prosecutors in Los Angeles charged Ortiz with ten counts of assault with a firearm, as well as three additional counts related to shooting at residential buildings.
She is currently being held without bail and has pleaded not guilty. Rihanna and A$AP Rocky have not yet commented publicly on the situation.
