Drew Barrymore sells her country estate — a look inside the interiors
For $4.5 million
American actress Drew Barrymore has sold her historic estate in Westchester County, New York, for $4.5 million.

Barrymore purchased the Colonial-style home in Harrison in 2024 for $4.4 million. The property was listed for sale in March this year with an asking price of $4.995 million.

According to real estate agent Kori Sassower, the new owners are relocating from New York City and plan to use the house as a countryside retreat — much as Barrymore herself did.

In 2024, the actress had been searching for an alternative to the Hamptons for family weekend getaways. She later said that the moment she saw the property, she felt an immediate emotional — and even spiritual — connection to it.

Built in 1748, the more than 675-square-metre residence required far more extensive renovations than Barrymore had originally anticipated. Over the course of two years, she and her family transformed the home, blending carefully selected designer pieces, vintage furniture and simple yet thoughtfully curated design solutions.
«With Pinterest, thrift-store finds and a can of paint, you can do almost anything», Barrymore joked in one of her interviews.

As Sassower noted, Barrymore’s work went well beyond refreshing the interiors. She also carried out extensive structural renovations, and the new owners greatly appreciated both her investment in the restoration and her refined design sensibility.

The estate features six bedrooms, a renovated kitchen, a spacious living room with ceilings rising more than nine metres high, and an octagonal sunroom. At the same time, many original 18th-century details have been carefully preserved, including exposed wooden ceiling beams and brick fireplaces.

The property spans nearly 4.8 hectares and includes landscaped gardens, wooded grounds, an outdoor swimming pool with a pool house equipped with a kitchen and spa area, as well as a separate guest house.

The estate is located less than an hour’s drive from Manhattan, where Barrymore lives with her two daughters. In addition, the land has been divided into five separate lots, giving the new owners the opportunity to develop or sell part of the property in the future.

Barrymore began her acting career as a child and rose to international fame with her role in E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (1982). She later starred in films including Charlie’s Angels, Grey Gardens and 50 First Dates, and since 2020 has hosted her own daytime television program, The Drew Barrymore Show.
