Catherine, Princess of Wales at a reception dedicated to Elizabeth II

In the Queen’s favourite colour
A commemorative reception marking the 100th anniversary of the birth of Elizabeth II was held at Buckingham Palace.
Members of the royal family, representatives of charitable organisations, and distinguished guests gathered for the occasion.

Among those in attendance, Catherine, Princess of Wales drew particular attention, making a symbolic sartorial choice. She appeared in a lilac dress—an оттенок she rarely wears—which was one of Elizabeth II’s favourite colours.

The Duchess’s look was further accentuated by statement jewellery: a bold pearl necklace and earrings that once belonged to the late Queen. As for Prince William, he opted for a classic dark suit.
Also in attendance were Charles III and Camilla, along with Prince Edward and Sophie. A particularly touching part of the evening was a meeting with individuals who are also celebrating their 100th birthdays. The King personally greeted them, presenting commemorative cards and treating them to a celebratory cake.

As a reminder, Elizabeth II passed away in September 2022 at the age of 96. She became the longest-reigning monarch in British history, dedicating more than 70 years to the country.
