Meghan Markle shares family photos, including a snapshot from Princess Diana’s ancestral estate

Summer moments with the family
Meghan Markle has shared a collection of family photographs from the family’s summer holiday on Instagram. The images feature Prince Harry, seven-year-old Prince Archie and five-year-old Princess Lilibet.

«Summer Holiday», the Duchess of Sussex captioned the post.

The photos show the family relaxing by the coast, swimming in the ocean, exploring picturesque surroundings and enjoying dinner at a restaurant. One image, however, attracted particular attention. It was taken at Althorp, the Spencer family’s ancestral estate in Northamptonshire, where Princess Diana spent her childhood. In the photograph, Prince Harry is seen walking along one of the estate’s tree-lined avenues with Archie and Lilibet.

That particular image quickly sparked widespread discussion online. According to Western media reports, the family may also have visited Princess Diana’s final resting place, located on a private island in the middle of the Oval Lake. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, however, have not commented on the speculation.

In his memoir Spare, Prince Harry revealed that he first brought Meghan to his mother’s grave in 2022, marking the 25th anniversary of Princess Diana’s death. Western media also suggest that this latest visit may have been Archie and Lilibet’s first introduction to a place of profound personal significance for their father.

Although Meghan and Harry have consistently protected their children’s privacy, the Duchess shared far more intimate family moments on this occasion than usual. Even so, the couple continue to keep Archie and Lilibet’s faces out of the public eye — in every photograph, the children are seen only from behind or at a distance.
