Former Spice Girls member Mel C marries for the first time
Victoria Beckham designed her wedding dress
Former Spice Girls member Melanie Chisholm, better known as Mel C, has married for the first time. The 52-year-old singer’s chosen partner is Australian producer and model Chris Dingwall.
The couple first officially registered their marriage in Australia before celebrating with an intimate wedding in the United Kingdom. The ceremony took place at the country estate of friends in Cumbria, surrounded by the picturesque landscapes of northern England. The newlyweds deliberately opted against a lavish celebration, choosing instead a relaxed yet elegant gathering with their closest family and friends.
For the special occasion, Mel C wore a minimalist ivory wedding gown custom-designed by Victoria Beckham. Featuring a draped neckline, an open back, a delicate train and vintage lace detailing, the dress perfectly reflected the understated elegance of the celebration.
Interestingly, for the official ceremony in Australia, the singer wore a different Victoria Beckham dress taken from the designer’s personal wardrobe, making it her symbolic «something borrowed». Victoria Beckham herself was unable to attend the celebration, as she and her husband David Beckham were in the United States during the FIFA World Cup.
Among the guests were Emma Bunton, Mel B and Geri Halliwell-Horner, making the wedding an almost complete Spice Girls reunion.
Serving as maid of honour was Mel C’s 17-year-old daughter, Scarlett, whom the singer shares with property developer Thomas Starr. According to Mel C, it was Scarlett who suggested adding a train to the wedding gown – a detail that became one of the dress’s defining features.
Mel C and Chris Dingwall met in 2023 through the dating app Raya. At the time, the singer was living in the United Kingdom while her future husband was based in Australia. The long distance did not stand in the way of their relationship, and the couple made their first public appearance together the following year. Chris proposed during a holiday in Mallorca in the summer of 2025.
Mel C has previously admitted that she never dreamed of getting married and was never certain she would one day become a bride. This marks the singer’s first marriage, and she has also become the last of the five Spice Girls members to officially tie the knot.
