Why didn’t Meghan Markle grace the British cover of Vogue?

«Even Beyoncé didn’t make such demands»
In 2022, Meghan Markle was set to be the main feature of the British edition of Vogue, but the issue never materialized due to the duchess’s excessive demands.
«Meghan wanted to choose the photographer herself, approve the writer, have final editorial control, oversee the photos, and insisted on appearing on both the UK and US covers simultaneously. No one had ever made such demands before – not even Beyoncé», a source told Page Six.

The insider also shared that Meghan later initiated a Zoom call with Anna Wintour to present her ideas:
«Anna wasn’t interested. The magazine had already chosen its cover star – Serena Williams. Anna spoke to Meghan only out of politeness».

However, another source insists Meghan never made such demands and that, in fact, Vogue had approached her several times about appearing on the cover, particularly after her wedding to Prince Harry.
For the record, Adele remains the only celebrity to have graced the covers of both British and American Vogue simultaneously, in 2021.
