Elon Musk wants to populate a planet with a «Legion» of his children
He’s looking for surrogate mothers
SpaceX and Tesla founder Elon Musk sees the global decline in population as a serious threat to humanity and is aiming to address the issue by increasing the number of his own offspring. The Wall Street Journal reports this, citing sources familiar with the businessman’s inner circle.
According to the publication, Musk has at least 14 children, though the actual number may be much higher. His approach to parenthood is said to be tied to a broader goal — preparation for Mars colonization. The newspaper notes that Musk’s companies, especially SpaceX and Tesla, are part of a larger strategy: building rockets for Mars travel and funding related initiatives.
Sources say Musk is convinced that birth rates are declining in developed countries, unlike in the so-called «Third World.» He has repeatedly stated that the solution to the demographic crisis lies in encouraging educated people to have more children.
In private conversations, Musk has reportedly referred to his children as a «legion,» comparing them to military units of the Roman Empire.
According to WSJ, he selects potential mothers via the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), which he purchased in 2023. One such woman was blogger Tiffany Fong, who said Musk offered her the chance to have his child in November 2023. She declined, saying she preferred to have children in a traditional family setting.
It’s also reported that Musk signs non-disclosure agreements with women who agree, offering financial support in case a child is born.
One of those women is allegedly Ashley St. Clair, who claimed she gave birth to Musk’s child. Musk did not officially acknowledge paternity, so the New York Supreme Court ordered him to take a DNA test. The test showed there’s a 99.9% probability that he is the father.
It is known that the businessman maintained contact with her during the pregnancy. In one message reviewed by WSJ, he reportedly suggested involving more women to bear his children:
«To reach legion status before the apocalypse, we’ll need to use surrogates.»
Musk also told St. Clair that in 2023, Japanese officials asked him to be a sperm donor for a famous woman — whose name he did not disclose — and claimed to have provided the material.
