Cristiano Ronaldo founded a film company

Together with Matthew Vaughn
Global football star and five-time Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo has decided to step beyond the football pitch — and take a leap into the world of cinema. Together with British director and producer Matthew Vaughn, he has founded an independent studio called UR-MARV, according to Variety.
The aim of the new venture is to combine innovative technology with a classic approach to filmmaking. The idea is already coming to life: the studio has completed work on two action films and is currently filming a third. Details are still under wraps, but the creators promise to reveal more very soon. In all projects, both Ronaldo and Vaughn are not only producers but also investors.
This marks Ronaldo’s first experience in the film industry. Meanwhile, he continues his football career with the Saudi club Al-Nassr, where he recently hinted that this might be his final club — a possible end to his career may be approaching. If so, filmmaking could become his new primary focus.

Moreover, Ronaldo’s interest in media isn’t new. In 2023, he became the lead investor in the media holding company Medialivre, and in 2024, he launched his personal YouTube channel UR Cristiano, which has already amassed over 74 million subscribers.
Matthew Vaughn — Ronaldo’s partner in UR-MARV — is known for directing Kingsman: The Secret Service, X-Men: First Class, and producing cult films like Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch by Guy Ritchie.

Ronaldo proves once again: nothing is impossible for him — now, even in cinema.
