A checkered coat and suede shoes: Kate Middleton’s first appearance in the new year
The Princess visited a hospital
Recently, Kate Middleton visited the Royal Marsden Hospital, where it was revealed that she had been undergoing cancer treatment. There, the Princess of Wales met with patients to show her support and personally thank the staff for their «genuine care, support, and compassion» over the past 12 months.
«The Princess wanted to make this visit to express her gratitude to the incredible team and to highlight the world-class care and treatment provided by Marsden», a Kensington Palace representative said.
The spokesperson also noted that Kate, like her husband, will continue to support Marsden – a role previously held by Diana. The hospital, which opened its doors in 1851, treats 59,000 patients annually.
This was the most significant solo visit by the Princess of Wales since completing her course of chemotherapy. In public, Kate appeared in a closed marsala-colored dress, paired with a checkered coat and suede heels.
After returning from the hospital, Kate posted on Instagram, announcing that she had entered remission.
«Entering remission has brought me relief, and I am now focused on recovery. As anyone who has faced a cancer diagnosis knows, it takes time to adapt to a new reality. Nevertheless, I am looking forward to a busy year ahead», she wrote.
Let us recall that the Princess of Wales’ diagnosis became known last year when she underwent abdominal surgery. In March 2024, she publicly spoke about her illness. Six months later, in September, Kate Middleton announced that she had completed her chemotherapy course, adding that she would now do everything possible to stay cancer-free.
