Model Barbara Meier to walk the Paris Fashion Week runway again
After 15 years
On January 28, designer Lena Erziak will present her collection at Paris Fashion Week. One of the models participating in the show will be Barbara Meier (38), who lives in Austria. This marks a significant moment for the former winner of «Germany’s Next Topmodel» (2007).
«Paris remains the pinnacle of the fashion world», Barbara Meier shared in an interview with the German newspaper Bild. «I am thrilled to return to the runway at the age of 38. This would have been unthinkable in the past. When I first appeared there, I was 20 — and even then, I was considered the oldest», the model recalls.
Meier’s return highlights the changes that have taken place in the fashion world over the years.
«Today, older and more diverse women are taking to the runway. It’s important that this is happening. In the past, I would train intensively for weeks before a show, go on strict diets, and live in fear of being replaced right before stepping out», she explains.
«Of course, my body isn’t the same as it was 15 years ago. But I am confident in myself. And anyone who works with me knows exactly what they’re getting», Barbara admits.
Currently, she is happy as a mother of two and the wife of entrepreneur Klemens Hallmann (49).
