Zendaya in vintage Givenchy and a Tower-inspired hat at the premiere of «The Odyssey»

Premiere in Paris
Paris hosted the latest premiere event for one of the most anticipated films of the year – Christopher Nolan’s «The Odyssey». Against the backdrop of the Eiffel Tower, the film’s leading stars posed for photographers, including Zendaya, Anne Hathaway, Charlize Theron, Lupita Nyong’o and Matt Damon.
As has often been the case, however, it was Zendaya who stole the spotlight, once again impressing with her impeccable sense of style.
The 29-year-old actress appeared in a breathtaking vintage Givenchy look from the house’s 1997 haute couture collection, created by the legendary Alexander McQueen.
The white gown, featuring a sculptural silhouette, accentuated shoulders and dramatic pagoda sleeves, is considered one of the designer’s most iconic creations from the early years of his tenure at Givenchy. The collection itself marked McQueen’s debut for the fashion house – an especially remarkable achievement considering he had only three months to create it.
The actress’s striking headpiece also drew considerable attention. Resembling a miniature Eiffel Tower, it was in fact a golden lace mask designed through McQueen’s collaboration with renowned Irish milliner Philip Treacy. The accessory was originally showcased by model Debra Shaw during Givenchy’s 1997 runway presentation.
