Madonna showcases striking new looks through the lens of Nadia Lee Cohen

For the latest issue of Interview Magazine
Pop icon Madonna has become the cover star of the new issue of Interview Magazine. In front of renowned British photographer Nadia Lee Cohen’s camera, the singer underwent a dramatic transformation, stepping into the role of a heroine from classic Hollywood-era films.

For the photo shoot, the 67-year-old artist wore creations from Gucci, Valentino, Saint Laurent, Bottega Veneta, Rick Owens, Ralph Lauren Collection, and several other leading fashion houses.
Alongside the striking editorial spread, Madonna gave a candid interview in which she spoke about creativity, provocation, and her upcoming projects.

The singer revealed that she had originally planned to make a film about her own life. She spent several years developing the screenplay together with Universal, but the project was ultimately shelved due to disagreements over the budget. According to Madonna, that experience became the catalyst for creating new music.

She also shared that her forthcoming album Confessions II was born while she was working on a Netflix series. Madonna explained that she cannot write songs without a story behind them, which is why many of the tracks draw on personal experiences and family trauma. Over time, those deeply personal narratives evolved into a dance album.

Madonna also addressed the subject of provocation, which has accompanied her career for decades. The star believes that many of her bold artistic choices carry a deeper meaning, but that people do not always take the time to understand it – especially when it comes to women in the arts.
