«It’s hard to forgive yourself»: Cara Delevingne opens up about her overdose

She went through a terrifying experience!
British model, actress and singer Cara Delevingne has spoken candidly for the first time about one of the most difficult periods of her life – her battle with drug addiction and an overdose.
Speaking on journalist Louis Theroux’s podcast, the 33-year-old star admitted that her journey to sobriety was an immense challenge and nearly cost her her life.

«I couldn’t cope. The more sober I became, the more I realised how badly I had messed everything up. It was too much. I couldn’t stay sober, and I ended up overdosing», Delevingne revealed.

The model recalled the day she was found unconscious. According to Cara, her girlfriend was with her at the time and immediately called for medical assistance.
«They gave me medication, I was taken to hospital, and that’s when everything began. Men were holding me down, and I had no idea what was happening. It was terrifying. It’s hard to forgive yourself for something like that. It remains one of the most painful moments of my life. Realising that you are hurting the people you love is incredibly painful», the star shared.
Delevingne’s career soared throughout the 2010s. She became one of the world’s most successful models and served as a muse to the legendary designer Karl Lagerfeld. However, struggles with addiction eventually forced her to put her professional life on hold.
In 2022, Cara underwent treatment at a rehabilitation centre and gradually returned to work and public life.
