David Beckham receives his own star on the «Walk of Fame»

The first footballer to join hollywood’s stars
Former England captain David Beckham has secured his place in Hollywood history. The football icon has become the first professional footballer to receive a personal star on the famous Hollywood Walk of Fame in Los Angeles.
A host of family members and close friends attended the ceremony to support Sir David. Among those present were his wife Victoria, sons Romeo and Cruz, daughter Harper, and family friends including Tom Cruise, Eva Longoria, James Corden, former footballer Robbie Keane and other high-profile guests. Beckham’s eldest son, Brooklyn, once again chose not to attend the milestone family event.
During the ceremony, Beckham appeared visibly emotional. In his speech, he admitted that receiving a star was one of the most special moments of his life.
«I’ve experienced many incredible moments throughout my career, but standing here in Los Angeles and receiving a star on the world-famous «Walk of Fame» is truly something special», Beckham said.
The former footballer also revealed that basketball legend Michael Jordan has always been one of his greatest inspirations.
According to reports, Beckham received the honour in part due to the work of his production company, Studio 99, which has created a number of successful documentary projects.
However, the primary reason for the recognition was his outstanding sporting career. He won six English league titles with Manchester United, claimed domestic championships with Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain, and lifted the UEFA Champions League trophy in 1999. Beckham earned 115 caps for England and captained the national team at two FIFA World Cups. Today, he remains actively involved in the sports industry and is a co-owner of Inter Miami, the club currently represented by Lionel Messi.
