Cate Blanchett to teach at the University of Oxford

Here’s what we know!
Hollywood actress Cate Blanchett is about to take on a new role – that of a lecturer at one of the world’s most prestigious universities. The two-time Academy Award winner has been appointed a professor at the University of Oxford, where she will teach contemporary theatre.
According to The Times, the 57-year-old star of «The Curious Case of Benjamin Button» will spend the upcoming academic year delivering lectures, leading creative discussions, and hosting public conversations with students.
Blanchett herself admitted that, despite ongoing speculation about a possible retirement from acting, she is genuinely excited about the opportunity to engage with young artists and the next generation of cultural leaders.

«This role offers me a wonderful opportunity to engage in a meaningful and dynamic creative dialogue with a new generation of thinkers and artists», the actress said.
Before Blanchett, the position was held by several other prominent cultural figures, including Sir Ian McKellen and Stephen Fry.
Throughout her career, the Australian actress has become one of the most influential figures in world cinema.

She won her first Oscar for portraying Katharine Hepburn in «The Aviator» and her second for her performance in «Blue Jasmine». Blanchett is also widely known for her roles in «The Lord of the Rings» trilogy, as well as films such as «Elizabeth», «Ocean’s 8», and many others.
