Austrian Star Susanne Wuest Films New Horror Project in Vancouver

First details
Austrian actress Susanne Wuest has joined the cast of the new horror thriller Sundowning, which has begun filming in Vancouver. The project is directed by Ian McDonald and centers on themes of the fear of aging and death.
Wuest is joined in the film by international actors Elisabeth Dulau, Rukiya Bernard, and Robbie G. K.. Production is handled by Spooky Pictures. The project is currently in production, and a release date has not yet been announced.
At the heart of the story is a young musician suffering from a severe form of Gerontophobia. Her obsessive fear of aging and death leads her to distance herself from her parents, who are on the brink of life and death. In search of inner relief, she takes a job at an isolated euthanasia facility — only to encounter a deeply unsettling reality instead of the peace she hoped for.

What initially seems like a chance at redemption quickly turns into a true ordeal. Within the remote institution, she uncovers a disturbing secret that radically alters her perception of everything around her.
For Ian McDonald, Sundowning marks his second directorial project following his work on the screenplay for The Dating Game Killer starring Anna Kendrick. For Susanne Wuest, it is another notable step in her career: she recently appeared in the series Drunter und Drüber for Prime Video and has worked on international projects, including Orphan 3. Her collaborations with directors Rainer Kaufmann and Felix Randau have further cemented her status as one of the most sought-after actresses in European cinema.
