American Music Awards: Winners Revealed

Who took the triumph?
The 52nd edition of the American Music Awards took place in Las Vegas in 2026, and the biggest surprise of this year’s ceremony was not Taylor Swift, as many had expected, but the South Korean group BTS.
The group dominated in multiple categories, winning “Artist of the Year,” “Favorite K-pop Artist,” and “Song of the Summer” for their track Swim.
Among other winners was Sabrina Carpenter, who took home several awards. Her album Man’s Best Friend was named “Album of the Year,” while she herself was awarded “Favorite Pop Artist.”
“Song of the Year” went to Golden, performed by EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami.
Justin Bieber was named Favorite Pop Artist, while the “New Artist of the Year” award went to the group Katseye.
In genre-specific categories, SZA was recognized in R&B, while Kendrick Lamar won in hip-hop. The R&B breakthrough award went to Leon Thomas.
A special honorary award for contributions to music was presented to Billy Idol.
One of the biggest shocks of the night was the complete defeat of Taylor Swift. Despite leading the nominations with eight entries, she did not win a single award and did not attend the event. However, her record of 40 AMA trophies remains unmatched. Similarly, Lady Gaga and Alex Warren also left empty-handed despite multiple nominations.
As always, the red carpet was packed with stars. Guests included Hilary Duff, Karol G, Bebe Rexha, Teyana Taylor, as well as John Legend with Chrissy Teigen, among many others.
