Sarah Michelle Gellar shares throwback photos with her husband
To mark their wedding anniversary
Hollywood actress Sarah Michelle Gellar celebrated a special milestone in her family life. On 1 September, she and her husband, actor Freddie Prinze Jr., marked their 24th wedding anniversary. To celebrate the occasion, the star shared a series of throwback photos from their relationship on Instagram.
The pictures show the couple when they were still very young. Gellar and Prinze Jr. posed together at different stages of their relationship, with the actress choosing images that recalled the beginning of their love story.
«Can you imagine if someone had told these young people where they would be 24 years later? Or rather, 26 years later … 24 of them married», — Gellar wrote in the post dedicated to her husband.
The actors’ love story began long before their wedding. Sarah and Freddie met in 1997 on the set of «I Know What You Did Last Summer». However, they did not become romantically involved until several years later.
In 2000, they ended up going on their first date by chance. The dinner was originally meant to include friends, but one of them cancelled at the last minute. As a result, Sarah and Freddie found themselves alone together. That evening marked the beginning of their relationship.
Prinze Jr. proposed in 2001, and on 1 September 2002, the couple married at the El Careyes resort in Mexico.
Over the course of their marriage, the actors became parents to two children — daughter Charlotte and son Rocky. Despite their demanding careers, Gellar and Prinze Jr. have remained together for many years.
Sarah and Freddie have also worked together several times. After appearing in «I Know What You Did Last Summer», they played Daphne and Fred in «Scooby-Doo» and «Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed».
Their story now spans more than a quarter of a century. These throwback photos offered another touching reminder of how it all began.
