Princess Eugenie welcomes her third child: first photo of the newborn released

A new addition to the British royal family
Princess Eugenie, the younger daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, has welcomed her third child. Buckingham Palace confirmed the happy news on 4 August, and shortly afterwards the Princess shared the first photograph of her newborn daughter.

The baby girl was born on 3 August at 6:20 p.m. in a hospital in Lisbon. The family has not yet revealed her name.
In the first photograph, the newborn is lying on her tummy in a light-coloured sleepsuit, tightly holding her father’s finger. In the caption accompanying the image, Princess Eugenie wrote that she and her husband could not be happier about the arrival of their daughter.

«Their Majesties The King and Queen, together with other members of the Royal Family, were delighted to hear the news», Buckingham Palace said in its official statement.
The baby is the third child for 36-year-old Princess Eugenie and her husband, businessman Jack Brooksbank. The couple, who married in October 2018 at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle, are already parents to two sons — August, born in 2021, and Ernest, born in 2023.

The newborn is the 15th great-grandchild of the late Queen Elizabeth II and is now 15th in the line of succession to the British throne. She is also the first member of the British royal family to be born in Portugal, where the family spends a significant amount of its time.
