Victoria and David Beckham have celebrated their 27th wedding anniversary. To mark the occasion, the couple shared a collection of treasured throwback photographs on social media, capturing nearly three decades of their life together, along with heartfelt messages dedicated to one another.
«Twenty-nine years together, 27 years of marriage – you’ve given me everything I could ever have dreamed of. Our greatest achievement will always be our family. I love you. Happy anniversary! And we’re still having the best time together», David Beckham wrote. Among the images was a rare photograph taken the day after their wedding.
Victoria’s tribute was equally touching. The fashion designer shared a selection of photographs from different chapters of their lives together and admitted that her feelings have remained unchanged throughout the years.
«After 27 years of marriage, four incredible children and countless matching outfits, you are still my whole world. Happy anniversary, I love you so much», she wrote.
The Beckhams’ love story began in 1997. David has often recalled that he first saw Victoria in a Spice Girls music video and immediately told his friends that she was the woman he would one day marry. They met soon afterwards following a football match, and two years later, on 4 July 1999, they officially became husband and wife.
Their wedding took place at Luttrellstown Castle in Ireland and became one of the most talked-about celebrity events of its time. Victoria wore a stunning Vera Wang wedding gown and a diamond tiara, while carrying their firstborn son, Brooklyn, in her arms as she walked to the altar. He had been born just a few months before the ceremony. Around 300 guests attended the celebration, which was estimated by the media to have cost close to $800,000.
Over the years, the couple welcomed four children – Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz and Harper. Despite facing numerous challenges, including persistent rumours of marital difficulties and constant media scrutiny, Victoria and David remain one of the world’s most enduring and recognisable celebrity couples.
More recently, public attention has focused on their strained relationship with their eldest son, Brooklyn. According to British media reports, he has had very little contact with his parents for more than a year because of an ongoing family dispute involving his wife, Nicola Peltz. Even so, in their anniversary messages, Victoria and David once again emphasised that family remains their greatest treasure and the achievement of which they are most proud.
