«For me, the runway has never been about clothes»: Gisele Bündchen covers a glossy magazine

A closer look at the fashion shoot
Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bündchen has become the cover star of the latest issue of W Magazine. For the 45-year-old fashion icon, the shoot is particularly meaningful, as the last time she appeared on the magazine’s cover was 19 years ago.

The editorial was photographed by renowned fashion photographer Karim Sadli, who captured Gisele in a series of striking looks from some of the world’s leading luxury brands.
On the cover, Bündchen poses in a chic black Celine blouse, complemented by a statement necklace featuring metallic pendants and seashells.

Among the most memorable outfits in the shoot are an asymmetrical black Gucci dress with an exceptionally high slit, an oversized Michael Kors trench coat worn directly against the skin, a textured blazer styled without additional layers, and a futuristic red draped gown. In other photographs, the model appears in a knitted Gucci turtleneck dress, a satin Celine ensemble and a Jean Paul Gaultier look.

In her interview with the magazine, Gisele reflected on the early days of her career and revealed that modelling has always meant much more to her than simply showcasing clothes.
«For me, the runway has never been just about clothes – it has always been about confidence», the supermodel said.

According to Bündchen, every photoshoot has its own unique character and mood. While working, she prefers not to overanalyse every movement but instead to fully embrace the image and story being created.
The model also reminisced about her childhood in Brazil, her famous «horse walk», which became her signature on the runway, and the landmark shoots that helped shape the course of her career.

As a reminder, Bündchen’s success story began when she was just 14 years old and was discovered by a modelling scout in a fast-food restaurant. She later became one of the most successful models in the world and topped Forbes’ list of the highest-paid models from 2002 to 2016.

Last year, she became a mother for the third time, welcoming a son with her partner, Brazilian jiu-jitsu instructor Joaquim Valente. The couple reportedly married in a private ceremony at the end of 2025, although they have yet to reveal the name of their child.
