Victoria Swarovski surprises with singing comeback at the Eurovision Song Contest

How was it?
The hosting duo of the Eurovision Song Contest 2026, Victoria Swarovski and Michael Ostrowski, have released the song «Opposites,» featuring Australian artist Go-Jo, better known as «The Milkshake Man,» and performed it live for the first time during the first semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2026.
Victoria Swarovski in particular delivered a surprise, making a spontaneous musical comeback as a singer. The song, performed as an interval act during the first semi-final on stage, immediately received an overwhelmingly positive response from the audience and the wider Eurovision community. Due to this strong reaction, it was quickly decided to release «Opposites» across all major streaming platforms.

The track is rapidly becoming a true earworm, blending musical theatre elements with pop and rap sections. Lyrically, «Opposites» playfully addresses the long-standing confusion between Austria and Australia – a running joke at the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 since Australia first joined in 2015. From the very first listen, the hook sticks in your head and is hard to shake.
For Victoria Swarovski and everyone involved, recording the song was a highly enjoyable experience, which was also reflected in the live performance at the sold-out Wiener Stadthalle in front of a global television audience of millions.

Fittingly, the trio opted for a potential ESC super-smash: a cheeky, high-energy musical anthem with big staging, bold gestures, and, of course, a few key changes. «Opposites» is deliberately the opposite of predictable – a musical homage to the world’s biggest song competition, complete with all the bells and whistles.
