Kim Kardashian revealed she underwent banned treatments in Mexico
And sparked a wave of criticism
44-year-old TV star Kim Kardashian, together with her sister Khloé, traveled to Mexico to undergo a procedure unavailable in the United States. She visited the Eterna Health clinic, where she received Muse stem cell therapy, promoted as a method of «complete cellular regeneration» and replacement of damaged tissues in joints and muscles.
On Instagram, Kardashian shared photos from the medical center — in the images, she is seen in a black outfit and protective glasses next to a doctor, as well as during the procedure itself, where marks from the treatment are visible on her back.
Kim recalled that two years ago she suffered a serious shoulder injury during training, and only Muse therapy performed by Dr. Adeel Khan brought her instant relief and restored full joint mobility. This time, she turned to him for a long-standing issue — chronic back pain. According to her, the effect was once again immediate: «The unbearable pain is finally gone.»
However, the star’s post sparked outrage on social media. Users accused her of promoting an excessively expensive therapy and reminded her of the insufficient research into the method, as well as potential risks, including a higher likelihood of developing cancerous tumors.
It should be noted that certain stem cell treatment methods are allowed in the U.S., but most procedures remain experimental and are not approved by the FDA. Kim acknowledged that such treatment abroad is not accessible to everyone and expressed hope that scientific progress will give more patients a chance in the future.
