Photo of the day: Demi Moore rescues ducklings and becomes their new mom

A heartwarming story
«The Substance» star and Oscar nominee Demi Moore shared a touching surprise with her followers on social media: she took in three little ducklings that had been left without their mother.
Moore found the ducklings near a local lake. Seeing they were alone, the actress decided to act. With the help of a veterinarian, she arranged for the ducklings to be cared for so they could grow stronger and eventually return to the wild.
«It wasn’t easy, but we saved three orphaned mallard ducklings! Now we’re feeding and looking after them so that one day they’ll be able to live in the wild again. And Pilaf (my dog) absolutely adores his new friends,» Moore wrote, sharing a video of the adorable ducklings.
The entire Moore family joined in to help. In the photos she posted, you can see her daughter Tallulah with her fiancé, musician Justin Acee, and her two-year-old granddaughter Louetta, daughter of Rumer Willis. And of course, the family’s beloved chihuahua Pilaf was also part of the moment.
Moore has long been known for her love of animals — she has nine dogs living in her home. Pilaf has even become something of a celebrity himself, accompanying Demi on many red carpets in 2024 and 2025.
In an interview for Dogue — a special Vogue project about celebrity dogs — Moore shared that Pilaf joined the family thanks to her daughter Tallulah, who saw him in an online listing. He was brought from Thailand to Los Angeles, where he became an inseparable part of the Moore family. And now, it seems the ducklings have also found their safe haven there.
