Billie Eilish named Apple Music’s artist of the year

Apple Music has wrapped up its year-end results and announced the most popular artist on its platform. The title goes to 22-year-old singer Billie Eilish, whose latest album Hit Me Hard and Soft became the number-one record in 138 countries worldwide.

The music service’s team highlighted Eilish’s lyrical tracks in particular.

«She is the voice of her generation», — commented Rachel Newman, Apple Music’s Senior Director of Content and Editorial, adding that Hit Me Hard and Soft stands as the singer’s most striking and heartfelt work to date.

Notably, the Artist of the Year award from Apple Music is Eilish’s second win (the first was in 2019) and will add to her growing trophy collection this year. The singer already holds an Oscar and two Grammy awards, making it safe to say that 2024 has been more than successful for her.
