Winners and the best star looks: how the 2026 Golden Globe Awards unfolded

A major event in the world of cinema
While we were asleep, Los Angeles hosted the 83rd Golden Globe Awards ceremony – the traditional dress rehearsal for the Oscars. The evening celebrated the most outstanding films of 2025, as well as the creatives behind them. Once again, the Beverly Hilton Hotel served as the venue, a long-standing home of the ceremony for decades.
The undisputed triumph of the night was «One Battle After Another» by director Paul Thomas Anderson. The film claimed four major awards: Best Motion Picture (Comedy or Musical), Best Director, Best Screenplay, and Best Supporting Actress.

The story follows a washed-up revolutionary whose life is once again thrust into the turbulent events of the 1970s. When his daughter – a rebellious anarchist – finds herself in danger due to a corrupt police officer, he is forced to take up arms once more to protect her and his own ideals.
In the category Best Motion Picture – Drama, «Hamnet» took home the award, while Jessie Buckley, who played the lead role, was named Best Actress.
There were also standout acting victories: Timothée Chalamet won Best Actor (Comedy or Musical) for his performance in «Marty the Magnificent».
Among television series, «Pitt Hospital» was named Best Drama Series, while «The Studio» won Best Musical or Comedy Series.
Multiple awards went to «Coming of Age», a series that became a breakout hit thanks to its unconventional format – filmed in a single continuous take – and its sharp social focus. The plot centers on 13-year-old Jamie, who is accused of murdering a classmate, exposing issues of bullying, misogyny, and the challenges of growing up in the modern world. The series explores psychological trauma, the influence of the internet, and the fragility of the adolescent mind, raising profound questions about responsibility and the nature of evil. The project won Best Miniseries, as well as awards for Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, and Best Actor in a Miniseries.

By way of reminder, last year’s top prize went to «Emilia Perez» by French director Jacques Audiard.
Beyond the awards themselves, the red-carpet looks of the stars drew just as much attention.
Perhaps the most striking outfit of the night belonged to Jennifer Lawrence, who appeared in a semi-sheer Givenchy gown adorned with floral detailing.
Jennifer Lopez also embraced the «naked dress» trend, dazzling in Jean-Louis Scherrer.
Selena Gomez delivered a memorable look in a black Chanel gown trimmed with white feathers.
