Wedding of the year: Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez share first photos from the ceremony
A celebration of the world’s richest man
Right now in Venice, one of the most anticipated events of the year is taking place — the wedding of 61-year-old Amazon founder and billionaire Jeff Bezos and 55-year-old journalist Lauren Sanchez.
The ceremony was preceded by numerous controversies, including backlash from Venetian residents who protested the grand celebration, as Bezos had essentially rented out the entire city. Nevertheless, the «wedding of the year,» as dubbed by global media, went ahead — with its cost reportedly exceeding $50 million.
The bride has already shared the first photos from the ceremony. In the shots, Lauren poses in a stunning wedding gown designed for her by Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana. The dress, featuring a corset and high neckline, adorned with lace throughout and a dramatic train, was inspired by the iconic Italian film star Sophia Loren. The look was completed with a massive 30-carat diamond engagement ring.
As for the groom, Jeff appeared in a classic look — a black tuxedo with satin lapels and a white shirt.
To recall, for the wedding, one of the world’s richest men rented a private island, with guests arriving via water taxi. Over 200 celebrities attended the event, including the Kardashian sisters with their mother Jenner, Leonardo DiCaprio and Vittoria Ceretti, Eva Longoria, Sydney Sweeney, Orlando Bloom, Oprah Winfrey, Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner, Queen Rania of Jordan, Karlie Kloss, Bill Gates, and many others.Based on the photos, the event’s dress code was black tie.
