«Too old»: Naomi Campbell says she’ll never attend the Met Gala again

The model finds the event preparation too exhausting
On May 5, New York will once again become the most fashionable place on the planet — the annual Met Gala is taking place. This year’s theme, «Superfine: Tailoring Black Style», explores the influence of 18th-century Black men’s fashion on modern style. The organizers were inspired by Monica L. Miller’s book «Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity».
While stars are busy preparing their show-stopping outfits, one of the Met Gala’s most iconic attendees — Naomi Campbell — has made a bold statement. In a new episode of her YouTube show «Being Naomi», the 54-year-old supermodel revealed she will no longer be participating in the event. The video, filmed during last year’s gala, has become something of a farewell.
«This is my last Met Gala. I can’t do it anymore… I feel too old for this. It causes too much anxiety,» Campbell said in her vlog.
The model admitted she had attended the gala more than 20 times in her life, but now she’s ready to let go of the tradition.
We’ll soon find out which looks will dominate the conversation this year. Met Gala 2025 promises to be no less spectacular — even without the presence of a legend like Naomi.
