At the Critics Choice Awards
Last night in California, the 31st Critics Choice Awards ceremony took place. The evening proved special not only because of the celebration of cinematic achievements and the expected parade of stars on the red carpet, but also thanks to a distinctly romantic moment. Accepting the award for Best Actor for his role in Marty Supreme, Timothée Chalamet turned his acceptance speech into a heartfelt declaration of love.
For the first time, the actor publicly addressed Kylie Jenner from the stage, with whom he has long been rumored to be in a relationship. The 30-year-old Chalamet admitted that he owes his victory to the 28-year-old reality star and businesswoman. He thanked Kylie for her support over the three years of their relationship and emphasized that he loves her.
«Thank you to my partner, with whom I’ve been together for three years. I love you. I couldn’t have done this without you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart,» the actor said, to applause from the audience.
The evening, overall, was rich in high-profile names. The major winner of the Critics Choice Awards was Battle After Battle, which took home the top prize for Best Picture of the Year, as well as awards for Directing and Adapted Screenplay. The award for Best Actress went to Jessie Buckley for her role in Hamnet.
Among the other winners of the night were Amy Madigan, who received the award for Best Supporting Actress for The Implements, and Jacob Elordi, honored for his performance in Frankenstein. In the television categories, the drama series Pitt and the film Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy emerged victorious.
