How she hid it from her accountant
Grammy winner and singer Miley Cyrus has made a striking confession about her destructive past habits. The American pop star admitted that she disguised her wild drug expenses as a passion for vintage fashion in order to deceive her accountant.
«Drugs were my biggest expense, and to hide it from my accountant, we called them «vintage clothing». So she was constantly receiving these receipts while I was on tour», the 32-year-old artist candidly told The Mirror.
Later, the accountant began to question the purchases.
«And every time she saw me, she’d say, «Where’s that $15,000 John Lennon T-shirt you bought?» And I’d say, «Oh, it’s upstairs, it’s very delicate», the singer added. «I bought a lot of ‘vintage clothes’ that year», Cyrus admitted openly.
Miley emphasized that after nearly five years of drug abuse, she became sober before undergoing vocal cord surgery in 2020. What started as a necessity for recovery turned into a lifestyle change.
«I love waking up with full clarity. I don’t want to start my mornings feeling sluggish – I want to be full of energy right away. I wouldn’t recommend anyone go through what I went through. But I’m proud I made it through», the star added.
