Nina Dobrev, 35, and Shaun White, 38, are engaged! The American snowboarder, a three-time Olympic champion in halfpipe, proposed to «The Vampire Diaries” actress. Exclusive photos were published by Vogue.
As it turns out, the happy event actually took place in early October. Shaun tricked Nina into thinking she was invited to a Vogue/CFDA dinner with Anna Wintour at the Golden Swan in New York. But as the actress walked up the stairs, she found her love standing beneath a white floral arch with rose petals and candles spread across the room.
«I was shocked. I just froze and looked at him», — Nina Dobrev recounted, recalling that she kept saying, «No!»
Ultimately, the snowboarder slipped a five-carat Lorraine Schwartz ring on her finger. Friends greeted the couple afterward in the restaurant, and together, they celebrated their engagement until the early hours.
In a comment to the publication, White revealed that he had actually been planning to propose for several months — initially during their summer trip, and then during their vacation in Cape Town, South Africa. However, his plans were disrupted for various reasons.
This will be the first marriage for Nina Dobrev. She previously dated Ian Somerhalder and Austin Stowell. The actress began her romance with Shaun in 2020.
