The series «Pluribus» has become the most-watched title on Apple TV

Here’s why it’s causing such a stir
The latest Nielsen Streaming Content Ratings have revealed which project has topped Apple TV’s most-watched list. Leading the ranking is Pluribus – a new series from the creator of Breaking Bad. The project has even surpassed the highly anticipated second season of Severance, which received 27 nominations for the 2025 Emmy Awards.
Its surge in popularity is remarkable: in just one week, the series amassed six million viewing hours in the United States – an absolute record for the platform. The frenzy was so intense that it nearly disrupted the Apple TV app itself: following the premiere of the first episodes, the service briefly experienced technical issues due to an overwhelming influx of viewers.
At the center of the story is writer Carol Sturkey, portrayed brilliantly by Rhea Seehorn. She is one of the few people on the planet who have retained the ability to feel negative emotions. The reason is a mysterious «happiness virus» that has rapidly transformed humanity. Now, the protagonist must unravel a chain of secrets and understand who – or what – stands behind the global shift reshaping society.
The first episode of Pluribus premiered on November 7. New episodes are released on Fridays and will continue to drop until December 26.
In light of its impressive success, the series has already been renewed for a second season. Its popularity has even extended beyond the platform: Google has added a special Easter egg – when users search for the title, a themed element dedicated to the main heroine appears.
