The Prince and Princess of Wales Move with Their Children into a New Home

A Historic Windsor Estate
Significant changes await the Prince and Princess of Wales, who, together with their children, are preparing to move into a new residence. Kensington Palace has officially confirmed that the royal couple will have a new home by the end of the year.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will relocate from Adelaide Cottage to Forest Lodge, a «woodland house» nestled in the heart of Windsor Great Park. The move, long cherished as a dream of the couple, is now becoming reality.
The family’s new residence is built in refined Georgian style, a hallmark of 18th- and 19th-century British architecture. Classified as a Grade II listed building, the estate is recognized for its historical and cultural importance. The spacious home boasts eight bedrooms — a considerable upgrade from the couple’s current residence.
According to sources close to the royal family, the primary reason behind the move is Catherine’s triumph over her battle with cancer. For the 42-year-old Princess, Adelaide Cottage has become associated with a difficult chapter in her life, marked not only by her illness but also by the loss of Queen Elizabeth II, with whom she shared a particularly warm bond.
«The move allows them to begin anew and open a fresh chapter. It’s a chance to leave behind some of the most painful memories,» an insider close to the Duke and Duchess was quoted as saying.
Notably, all expenses related to the relocation and refurbishment of the property will be covered personally by William and Catherine. In this way, the life changes of the heir to the British throne will in no way affect the pockets of UK taxpayers.
