The King and Queen of the United Kingdom celebrate their 20th wedding anniversary

Photos from the festive trip
On April 9, the King and Queen of the United Kingdom will celebrate their 20th wedding anniversary. To mark the occasion, they have traveled to Italy and have already shared the first photos from their trip.
In the photos, Charles III and Camilla Parker Bowles pose against the backdrop of a blooming garden and stone boulders. The pictures were taken by Chris Jackson, who often photographs members of the royal family during both official and informal events.
«We are beginning our first visit to Italy as King and Queen, and we are very much looking forward to the opportunity to celebrate our twentieth wedding anniversary in such a special place – and with such wonderful people!» – reads the royal couple’s official Instagram page.
As a reminder, Charles III and Camilla Parker Bowles were married in 2005 at Windsor Guildhall. The ceremony was civil, rather than religious – a first in the history of the British royal family. After the wedding, Camilla received all of her husband’s titles, including Princess of Wales, but chose not to use it to avoid unpleasant associations with the late Princess Diana. Instead, she used the title Duchess of Cornwall. After Queen Elizabeth II’s death and her son’s ascension to the throne, Camilla became known as Queen Consort.
