The Iron Throne from «Game of Thrones» Sold for $1.5 Million

And 900 other props
The media company HBO decided to sell off props from its legendary series Game of Thrones and put more than 900 items from the show’s filming up for auction at Heritage in Dallas.
The biggest and most expensive item of the auction was the Iron Throne, which turned out to be made of plastic, coated with metallic paint, and adorned with stones. It sold for nearly $1.5 million, according to CNN.
Along with the throne, other iconic items from the series were also auctioned off, including knight armor, swords, costumes, and character jewelry.
For example, Jon Snow’s sword sold for $400,000, while his Night’s Watch costume fetched $337,500.
Daenerys wasn’t overlooked either — her gray suede costume was sold for $112,500. Additionally, Cersei’s red velvet gown went for $137,500.
In total, the Game of Thrones auction brought in just over $21 million, with more than 4,000 potential buyers competing for the lots.
