<p>Earlier, we reported that on Monday, April 14, a New Shepard rocket from Blue Origin, owned by Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, launched from a spaceport in Texas. Onboard was an all-female crew of six: Bezos’s fiancée Lauren Sanchez, pop star Katy Perry, TV host Gayle King, NASA guide Aisha Bowe, human rights activist Amanda Nguyen, and producer Keriann Flynn.</p>

<p>The rocket launched at 8:30 AM local time and reached the Kármán line – the internationally recognized boundary of space located about 100 kilometers above Earth’s surface. The entire flight lasted 11 minutes.</p>

<p>After the expedition returned to Earth, Emily Ratajkowski expressed her discontent. The 33-year-old model called the mission «the end of the world» and «absurd», highlighting the contradiction between proclaimed environmental concern and the company’s actions.</p>
<p>«<em>To say you care about Mother Earth while blasting off into space on a ship built by a company that’s destroying the planet? It’s just absurd</em>», she emphasized.</p>

<p>Actress Olivia Munn, named one of Time Magazine’s most influential women of 2025, had already criticized the spaceflight earlier in April.</p>
<p>«<em>I know it’s probably not very cool to say. But there are so many other things going on in the world right now that are so important… What are you going to do in space? That’s a huge amount of money. You know, there are people who can’t even afford eggs</em>», she said.</p>

<p>Writer Jenna Bush Hager called the crew’s pre-flight grooming routines inappropriate, noting that all six women had their hair and makeup done before going to space.</p>

<p>Lauren Sanchez has already responded to the criticism.</p>
<p>«<em>I wish they would come to Blue Origin and see the thousands of employees who don’t just work here – they pour their hearts and souls into this vehicle. They love their work, they love the mission, and it means a lot to them</em>», she emphasized.</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>On April 14, 2025, billionaire Jeff Bezos’s fiancée, Lauren Sánchez, will embark on a suborbital flight aboard Blue Origin’s spacecraft, becoming part of the first all-female crew since 1963. The spacecraft is fully autonomous – meaning there are no pilots on board. The rocket will reach an altitude of about 100 kilometers above Earth, crossing the Kármán line, which is conventionally considered the boundary between Earth’s atmosphere and outer space.</p>
<figure id="attachment_130313" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-130313" style="width: 1080px" class="wp-caption alignnone"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="wp-image-130313 size-full" src="https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/15-2.jpg" alt="" width="1080" height="721" srcset="https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/15-2.jpg 1080w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/15-2-300x200.jpg 300w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/15-2-1024x684.jpg 1024w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/15-2-768x513.jpg 768w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/15-2-370x247.jpg 370w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/15-2-800x534.jpg 800w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/15-2-20x13.jpg 20w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/15-2-185x124.jpg 185w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/15-2-740x494.jpg 740w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/15-2-400x267.jpg 400w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/15-2-72x48.jpg 72w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1080px) 100vw, 1080px" /><figcaption id="caption-attachment-130313" class="wp-caption-text">Blue Origin crew</figcaption></figure>
<div class="mceTemp"></div>
<p>After reaching weightlessness, the participants will have a few minutes inside the capsule to enjoy views of the planet. The spacecraft will then automatically return to Earth. This 11-minute flight is not only a technical triumph but also a powerful message – women are ready to conquer space and face challenges on equal footing with men.</p>
<p>In addition to Sánchez, the crew includes pop star Katy Perry, TV host Gayle King, NASA tour guide Aisha Bowe, human rights activist Amanda Nguyen, and producer Cariann Flynn.</p>
<figure id="attachment_130314" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-130314" style="width: 1080px" class="wp-caption alignnone"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="wp-image-130314 size-full" src="https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/14-2.jpg" alt="" width="1080" height="1350" srcset="https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/14-2.jpg 1080w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/14-2-240x300.jpg 240w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/14-2-819x1024.jpg 819w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/14-2-768x960.jpg 768w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/14-2-370x463.jpg 370w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/14-2-800x1000.jpg 800w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/14-2-185x231.jpg 185w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/14-2-740x925.jpg 740w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/14-2-20x25.jpg 20w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/14-2-400x500.jpg 400w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/14-2-38x48.jpg 38w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1080px) 100vw, 1080px" /><figcaption id="caption-attachment-130314" class="wp-caption-text">Katy Perry</figcaption></figure>
<p>According to Lauren, she personally selected each member of the crew. This isn’t the first flight featuring famous personalities, but mission NS-31 is special. There are no random passengers – each of these women is someone capable of inspiring others.</p>
<figure id="attachment_130315" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-130315" style="width: 1080px" class="wp-caption alignnone"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="wp-image-130315 size-full" src="https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/17.jpg" alt="" width="1080" height="1350" srcset="https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/17.jpg 1080w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/17-240x300.jpg 240w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/17-819x1024.jpg 819w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/17-768x960.jpg 768w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/17-370x463.jpg 370w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/17-800x1000.jpg 800w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/17-185x231.jpg 185w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/17-740x925.jpg 740w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/17-20x25.jpg 20w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/17-400x500.jpg 400w, https://theinsider.at/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/17-38x48.jpg 38w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1080px) 100vw, 1080px" /><figcaption id="caption-attachment-130315" class="wp-caption-text">Blue Origin crew</figcaption></figure>
<p>Ahead of the flight, Lauren Sánchez shared images of the women posing on the launch pad, exuding confidence before the historic moment. All are dressed in stylish dark blue jumpsuits adorned with the Blue Origin logo. Sánchez’s stylists worked on the outfits. It’s also known that the team chose undergarments from the Skims brand, created by Kim Kardashian in 2019, for the flight.</p>
<p>Today will go down in history!</p>
