Designer Simone Bellotti has been appointed as the new creative director of the fashion house Jil Sander. He will replace the creative duo Luke and Lucie Meier, whose departure was announced in February this year. The designers had worked at the brand for eight years and revealed that they would be leaving the house after their Milan show.

Before joining Jil Sander, Bellotti held the position of creative director at Bally, a role he took on in October 2022 after leaving Gucci, where he had spent 16 years in the design studio under Frida Giannini and Alessandro Michele.

At the beginning of his career, he worked as an assistant to Austrian designer Carol Christian Poell. Later, Bellotti was a menswear designer at Gianfranco Ferré from 2002 to 2005, and also held senior menswear designer positions at Bottega Veneta and Dolce & Gabbana.
