Canadian actress Rachel McAdams has officially made history in Hollywood: after 25 years in the profession, she has been awarded her own star on the Walk of Fame.

The 47-year-old actress was supported by her parents, her sister, her partner and the father of her two children, Jamie Linden, as well as friends and colleagues from the industry. Among the guests were Domhnall Gleeson, Rachel’s co-star in About Time, actor Dylan O’Brien, and director Sam Raimi.

During her speech, the star of Mean Girls and The Notebook reflected on her childhood and her earliest dreams of the stage.

«When I was about eight years old, I lived in the small Canadian town of St. Thomas and wrote my parents a very desperate letter. I begged them to find a way to make my biggest dream come true – to get on the show Star Search. And they believed in me unconditionally», the actress shared.

Rachel thanked her family and loved ones for the support that accompanied her throughout her journey:

«This was only possible because of you. Because of the love you gave me, my happy childhood, and the fact that you believed in me long before I began to believe in myself».

Notably, the film Help! will mark her first major project after a long career hiatus, with its premiere scheduled for 2026.
