Sarah Jessica Parker met Queen Camilla at an event held recently at the New York Public Library. For the actress, the occasion carried special symbolic meaning: it was here that her character Carrie Bradshaw was supposed to marry Mr. Big in the first Sex and the City film.

For the event, the star wore a soft cream polka-dot dress with a classic collar and a double-breasted row of buttons. The look reminded many of Princess Diana’s style, as she often chose similar silhouettes and prints in the 1980s. The ensemble was completed with strap pumps – another subtle nod to Diana, who after her separation from Prince Charles often favored striking stiletto designs.

Queen Camilla, meanwhile, chose an elegant dark navy coat dress with embroidery on the bodice. Particular attention was drawn to a brooch depicting Britannia, a symbol of the United Kingdom. Set with diamonds, rubies and sapphires, the piece belongs to the historic royal collection.

The event was dedicated to literature, the cultural ties between the United States and Great Britain, as well as The Queen’s Reading Room initiative, which Camilla supports. Alongside Parker, guests were welcomed by Anna Wintour and television host Jenna Bush Hager.

During the visit, the Queen made a symbolic gift to the library: the toy Roo from the world of Winnie-the-Pooh, reuniting it with Kanga. The original toys that inspired A. A. Milne’s beloved stories have been kept there since 1987. Camilla also read an excerpt from a book to children.

This marked the second meeting between Parker and Camilla in less than six months. In the autumn, the actress attended a literary reception in London, where she also greeted the Queen.

Meanwhile, King Charles III carried out a separate engagement in Harlem, visiting a community organization that supports children and families through educational and environmental initiatives. New York became the second stop of the royal couple’s four-day visit to the United States after Washington.

Today, July 17, 2025, Queen Consort Camilla celebrates her 78th birthday. To mark the occasion, Buckingham Palace has released a new formal portrait of Her Majesty.

The photograph was taken at Camilla’s private residence — Ray Mill House in Wiltshire. It was captured by royal photographer Chris Jackson, who previously worked with Camilla on her 75th birthday portrait.

Prince William and Princess Catherine of Wales joined in the congratulations. On their official social media account, the couple shared a photo with Camilla, along with a warm message:

«Happy Birthday to Her Majesty!» — followed by a birthday cake emoji.

In the new portrait, the Queen Consort appears with a warm smile, wearing a turquoise dress with an abstract print by Fiona Clare. Her makeup is kept minimal — a touch of blush, soft pink lipstick, and mascara.

As for accessories, Camilla chose an understated gold set: gemstone earrings, chain bracelets, and two rings, one of which is her iconic engagement ring with a 5-carat diamond.

Interestingly, the same dress was seen in another recent portrait where the Queen posed with her Jack Russell terrier, Beth. That image was shared to mark the opening of a new dog garden at the Battersea shelter — the place from which Camilla once adopted her beloved pet.

As a reminder, Camilla Parker Bowles, formerly the Duchess of Cornwall, married Prince Charles (now King Charles III) in 2005 after more than three decades of relationship. In May 2023, following the death of Queen Elizabeth II, she officially became Queen Consort, ascending the throne alongside her husband.

Recently, the British royal couple, King Charles III and Queen Camilla, celebrated their porcelain wedding anniversary – the pair has been married for 20 years. For the first time, the Queen opened up about her thoughts on married life and revealed the secret to her and His Majesty’s long-lasting union.

According to the 77-year-old Queen, the key to a successful marriage is friendship and a shared sense of humour.

«20 years – who would have believed it’s already been 20 years? What’s the secret? I don’t know. Well, I suppose it’s just a certain friendship, really. Laughing at the same things, getting through life together», Camilla said, as quoted by The Mirror.

The Queen also admitted that she and her husband would celebrate their anniversary after returning home from their official visit to Italy, as they currently hardly cross paths due to their busy schedules. However, Her Majesty has already prepared a gift for the King.

«We’re constantly moving in opposite directions, like ships in the night. We just pass each other by», the Queen joked, adding: «Yes, I’ve got something. Because it is a porcelain anniversary, after all».

The festive spirit of Christmas is gradually making its way not only into our homes but also into the palaces of monarchs. Recently, we wrote about how the Prince and Princess of Monaco were the first to unveil their Christmas card this year. Now, this traditional royal custom has been continued by King Charles III and Queen Camilla.

The British monarchs chose a photograph taken in the gardens of Buckingham Palace in April. King Charles III is seen wearing a white shirt with a tie and a light grey suit, while his wife is dressed in a blue wool dress by Fiona Clare and gold jewelry.

«Wishing you a very Happy Christmas and New Year», —  reads the message on the card.

The photograph for the King and Queen of Great Britain was taken by Millie Pilkington, whom the royal family often invites for official and memorable portraits.

Let us remind you that last year, the King and Queen chose a photograph taken by Hugo Burnand in the Throne Room of Buckingham Palace on Coronation Day for their official Christmas card.
